How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are? 25
Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying
If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do? Keeping up appearance I imagine, or obligation.
When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done? Probably - I think I have some good ideas but I get bored of things easily and therefore don't bother following through.
What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world? Gosh, there's no much. But I think ignorance is the basis to most problems. If possible, I'd want to reduce that.
If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich? The work I actually want to do - social work. Trying to make a better life for others and actually doing so I think will be so fulfilling.
Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing? Currently - settling. but not really, I am at uni, and I do do volunteer work.
If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I guess if this were the same for everyone, I would've had kids by now. But aside from family life, I would've taken my education more seriously when I was younger, and not been so careless with money so I could've travelled more.
To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken? I probably only really started caring about the direction my life was taken a few years ago, but since then, I'd say I'm fairly in control. I know what I want, and I'm on the right path to achieve it.
Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Doing the right things. I really dislike 'guidelines' as such, and more instinctive about my approaches. I think...
You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do? First, question why they think like that. And then point out why I think they're wrong.
If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Either, always be true to themselves and not care so much about what others think or their expectations. Or tell them to live by the Serenity prayer.
Would you break the law to save a loved one? Yes.
Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? I would say yes, but I can't recall an example.
What’s something you know you do differently than most people? I really don't think I'm that unique, but I think I worry far less about most things.
How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? Difference of opinion I would think?
What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? Hmmm... Well I've traveled, I'm at uni, I've moved interstate, I stood up for what I believe in, I've been reckless in many ways.... I guess it's just small things like travel more, buy a new car, do better at uni etc etc etc.... and that's just out of lack of self-discipline. But I don't feel like I've made myself miss out on much?
Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Aside for any prolonged boy issue from time to time, not really?
If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? Spain - to learn more about the culture and language.
Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? No, but I do for traffic lights. And I guess this means I do believe it makes it work faster.
Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? Joyful simpleton, and I think I often fit this description.
Why are you, you? My upbringing, my experiences, some self-enforced decisions, etc.
Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? Not always, but for the most part, I hope so?
Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you? The latter.
What are you most grateful for? The opportunities I have to pretty much make my life the way I want it.
Would you rather lose all of your old memories, or never be able to make new ones? I think I live in the past to be honest, but the prospect of never being able to make new ones is pretty horrible... I guess out of the two it would be easier to forget all of my old ones?
Is is possible to know the truth without challenging it first? ......... yes?
Has your greatest fear ever come true? I think my greatest fear is extreme harm to myself or to those I care most about. and therefore, no.
Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now? 5 years ago was December, 2005. And I can't recall what I would've been upset about? Probably Lewis' parents? And whilst I still think they were unjustified about a lot of things, it doesn't effect me now, so no.
What is your happiest childhood memory? What makes it so special? I can't pinpoint one single memory, but combined, they were all just happy times with my family when we were laughing and happy, and things just being simple.
At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? I was super passionate about uni this year. Even though my results weren't that great, I hadn't really ever been so determined about something. However, this didn't really make me feel 'alive' as such. simpler things like a really nice summer evening, or fun times with my friends make me feel more alive then achievements.
If not now, then when? Soon.
If you haven’t achieved it yet, what do you have to lose? nothing... I don't hold back all that much though
Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever? I wouldn't say the best conversation, but I have definitely had that purely easy comfortability with people before.
Why do religions that support love cause so many wars? again, ignorance...
Is it possible to know, without a doubt, what is good and what is evil? No. People have too many differing beliefs for this to happen.
If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job? Was about to say, my current job, yes. But probably not - a million dollars isn't massive today. I think I would buy an investment property or 2, and try to make money from them to live more comfortably.
Would you rather have less work to do, or more work you actually enjoy doing? More work that I actually enjoy. It wouldn't be work as such then.... ;)
Do you feel like you’ve lived this day a hundred times before? Pretty much, nice cruisy day though.
When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in? Literally or figuratively? ha. Literally, well probably never. Figuratively........ Ok, lame, but I truly believed Adam was a far better person that he actually is. And I think this is my general approach to a lot of people. And also, getting into uni. I was never strong academically and this was a big achievement for me. Obviously.
If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? My immediate family, Lewis... most other people I care about I have seen recently, or just would be less of a priority.
Would you be willing to reduce your life expectancy by 10 years to become extremely attractive or famous? No.
What is the difference between being alive and truly living? Living how you truly want to live and being happy. Basically, not going along with the flow.
When is it time to stop calculating risk and rewards, and just go ahead and do what you know is right? Now. (hahaha god I feel lame, but it's true)
If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? The repercussions I suppose? and just because we learn in the long term, doesn't mean the short term result will be easy, and rarely is.
What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? I honestly do what I really want to most of the time.
When was the last time you noticed the sound of your own breathing? This morning - I was falling asleep with my earplugs in.
What do you love? Have any of your recent actions openly expressed this love? Summer in Melbourne. I guess so, I get out a lot more when its warm, and take a lot of photos of the amazing sunsets and things like that. I think I generally appear/feel happier in Summer also.
In 5 years from now, will you remember what you did yesterday? What about the day before that? Or the day before that? I don't think anything significant happened on those days, so no. Actually, I got my first promotion yesterday. But I may just remember it happened, not so much the finer details surrounding it. I get this question though - much of what happens now actually won't matter in the future. and I do try to tell myself this if I'm getting caught up in something fairly stupid but is hard to deal with at the time,
Decisions are being made right now. The question is: Are you making them for yourself, or are yocu letting others make them for you? Myself. I think I'm fairly selfish about a lot of things these days, but what I do doesn't really affect many others so it doesn't matter too much.
