The Walk In Her Shoes challenge is a fundraiser for CARE, in which one sets oneself a distance to walk over the course of a week (in my case, 10kms) and raises money towards CARE's projects helping empower women and girls who are forced to walk long distances as a part of their day to day lives. I'm really, really glad I did this on so many levels - not only do I feel good having stuck at a challenge and completed it, I managed to raise the money I had hoped to raise, even after I revised my target back up! It's been difficult, but certainly not impossible, and I think that was the key to it in some ways - I'm glad I didn't bite off more than I could chew. One of the best things about this challenge has been the added benefit of working towards my own health and fitness and at the same time helping others. I definitely foresee more of this sort of activity in the future!
